Acne is
an inflammation of the
sebaceous (oil) glands just
beneath the surface of the
skin, causing pimples,
blackheads, whiteheads and,
in extreme cases, infected
cysts and scarred skin. Acne
is a disorder that usually
starts during puberty.
Acne
cases can be mild and brief
or persistent but in one way
or another acne affects one
out of four teenagers.
When
puberty begins the activity
of most glands increases and
that causes a greater amount
of oil which lubricates the
skin. This oil - called
Sebum - becomes stickier and
clogs the pores causing them
to expand.
A mild
case of acne consists of no
more than a few pimples and
blackheads. In severe cases
the skin may be seriously
damaged and permanently
scared.
Because
many acne sufferers are
active, growing teenagers it
is preferable for them to
obtain instructions as how
to help in the treatment of
their acne. Young people who
tend to have acne should
avoid chocolate, nuts, fatty
and fried, sweets, soft
drinks and so on.
Sufferers
are usually offered two
choices; one is over the
counter remedies such as
cleansers and the other is
to see a doctor or
dermatologist. Drugs are
generally prescribed which
does not address the root
cause of the problem.
People of
all ages have followed the
guided path and have
remained completely
frustrated when it comes to
dealing with their acne
problem.
If you
are one of the thousands who
are suffering needlessly
from acne help is on the
way. But to put is bluntly,
if you are looking for a
wonder cream or pill that
will clear up your problem
overnight that will not
happen. Do you know that one
of the main reasons for acne
is because your hormones are
out of balance and eating
correctly can put this
right? The root cause is
internal and until those are
addressed you will never be
cure.
